Jonathan Turgeon is known for his modern, groove-driven music, shaped by influences from jazz, rock, and classical styles. He gained recognition as a pianist and composer with his original albums Au fil des feuilles qui craquent (2015), Les rêves errants (2017), Jonction (2018), L’abîme (2021), Colorum Temporis (2024), Reliques (2025), and L’abîme II (2026).
As an accompanist, Jonathan collaborates on projects across a wide range of styles, including Sport National (2023), Charbonneau ou les valeurs à bonne place volumes 1 (2018) and 2 (2022) by composer Hugo Blouin, Gazoline: Gazoline III (2021), and in classical music on the triptych Flûte Passion: Suites 1, 2, and 3 by Claude Bolling (2025), with flutist Nadia Labrie. He is also in demand for his versatility, notably collaborating with the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke for their Pop concerts featuring Emilie-Claire Barlow and Marc Hervieux.
For over 10 years, he has developed expertise in choral accompaniment with groups such as the Cégep Choir, Campus Choir, BU Singers, and the Chœur des gens heureux. In addition to accompanying on piano and serving as musical director for concerts, he will take on a new challenge in 2026 by conducting four of his own arrangements for the Cégep Choir concert. Following this success, Jonathan will serve as co-director alongside Anne Hébert for the 2026–2027 season.
